Create Selling Tools

The most important tool is the application letter and the resume. Their purpose is to get a job interview. Although the application letter should be short, it must:

  • introduce you to employers.
  • arrest their attention.
  • arouse their interest.
  • persuade them that you are the person to interview.

The letter should have three or four paragraphs-no more than one page-and should be addressed to a specific person, with the individual's title and department. There are three main parts: introduction, body and close. Remember to state your career or job objective and to high-light your skills. Ideally, the letter should be individually typed so that it meets the specific requirements of the positions available in the company.
